This can make for a long trip, driving around to different hotels to find out if they will allow your pet. If you research ahead of time, and find the right website, it can be much easier on everyone involved. And you don’t have to leave your pet behind while you go on your vacation!

There are a few suggestions we have to be able to find the places that allow dogs, that make it so much easier on you and also your pet. The first thing you can do is to find some websites that can lead you to find dog friendly vacation. They have organized all the trip details for you and you can find some good deals sometimes. Most hotels or motels realize that a lot of people now want to take their pets on vacation, so they are doing what they can to make their hotel or motel pet friendly.

Another thing you can do is join the AAA club, or the AARP club. They will help you research with hotels are best for you and your pet, and what the accommodations are like. If you have a pet that is not a cat or a dog, and is more exotic, like a snake, or lizard, your choices are narrowed down a little more.

If you cannot find anything through the first two suggestions, you can always get out your phonebook. Use the yellow pages, and call the local hotels or motels. Then ask them if they can recommend some pet friendly resorts that will accommodate you, your family and your pet.
